The Cavalier and Cutthroat takes place in a fantasy world and is a story about two boys who grew up alone and on the street.

When this chapter of the story begins, the two boys have grown into men whose lives have taken them in very different directions, but the mistakes and enemies from their past force them to join together once again.

A tale of love, betrayal, magic and monsters, this ongoing story begins this December, with a new episode every week! Check out the Creative Projects section of www.artkings.ca

Although I have worked as a make-up artist in the film/television industry for over 2 years, I have only recently had time to create my own website.  It is still a work in progress, but I am happy to say that I at least have some web presence now!

You can view my personal website at www.katiemckinnon.com

Please be aware that some images on the website are of a graphic nature, but I can guarantee it is all false and in the sake of entertainment.

John Lennon once said, "Life is what happens while you are making other plans."

This is simple truth, and partially explains why, after a gap of 10 + years, I am once again working on a comic book project that can be traced all the way back to 1993!

In '93, the same year that Bill Clinton became president, the World Trade Center was bombed (for the first time), the World Wide Web went live, and Jurassic Park stomped through your local movie house, I drew an illustration for a fantasy warrior queen. A year or so later, Dan mentioned that a double-feature self-published comic book would be a fun project, and did I have any ideas I could use for my half? I dug through my piles of artwork, found this old drawing (crude as it was), and wrote a story around it. We published it in 1995, under the title 2-Headed Giant, and the rest was history!

Or at least, it would have been, had Life paid any attention to my plans. Though the first issue was well-received, there would not be a second one, and other work and other opportunities soon took precedence. But throughout the years since we first worked on our stories, the desire to create never left, and I believe that the delay has been for the best. By giving me time to learn and grow, it allowed me years to improve my artistic skills and ability, years that will be reflected in quality of the final project.
