Spring 2008: Common Ground

Okay, let's start at the beginning. I was a small town kid raised in Grandview, Missouri. At the tender age of 12, I was ripped from my comfortable suburban neighborhood and taken to a desert slab called Scottsdale, Arizona. I adapted, lost the southern accent, and quickly embraced my new life.

After kicking around AZ for awhile, my husband and I packed it up and moved to Vancouver, BC in 2002. We like it here, though a little less rain wouldn't hurt.

I've been working with computers since 1999, specifically focusing on the AEC markets for the last few years. I am also a professional make-up artist for film, television and independent projects. You can view my work at www.katiemckinnon.com.

Favorite TV: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica (the remake), Quantum Leap, Firefly, Friends, Everwood, Angel, Heroes, Life, Supernatural, South Park

Favorite Authors: Orson Scott Card, J.K. Rowling, Stephen King and James Patterson

Favorite Movies: Horror, comedy, campy B-movies, sci-fi, musicals, animation, usually nothing too dramatic, chick flicky and definitely NOT WESTERN
